How to Install a Software Update

Download the software update (the most current version is on the top of the list).
File will be downloaded as a zip file.
Unzip file and copy to USB 2.0 Hi-Speed connection (Type C thumb drive). Copy these files to root directory of USB (nothing else can be on the stick):
• ar.dat
• factory_app.bin
• jh.dat
• new_app.bin
Power up DRO.
Press any key after power up.
Press the C key to skip the encoder reference step.
Connect a USB C thumb drive containing the Product Software update file to the USB port (x31) on the back of the DRO.
Press the Menu key.
Using the up or down arrow keys highlight Installation Setup, press Enter.
Using the up or down arrow keys highlight File Management (if not already highlighted), press Enter.
Using the up or down arrow keys highlight Product Software, use the right arrow, key then with the up or down arrow keys highlight Install, press Enter 3 times OR you can press C key to cancel.
A pop up Message will appear with the 2nd & 3rd Enter press – that’s normal.
2nd press – “Warning! Press the enter key to install the product software. Press C to cancel.”
3rd press – “Warning! Installing Software – Please wait.”
Once you pressed enter 3 times, the update will run by itself until it is complete. Do not push any buttons or remove the USB thumb drive until it has finished its reboot and the screen reads, “Power was off. Press any key to continue.”
You may now remove USB from port X31.
The Software Update is now complete, but you should also install the corresponding mPubs. (Scroll down for instructions and files.) mPubs are the “in DRO” operating instructions and all the new enhancements will be included in the HELP menu of the box, if you load the corresponding mPub version.

How to Load Operating Instructions

A file with the following properties needs to be loaded onto the product:

File format: mPub
File name: DRO200_300_xx.mpub (xx corresponds to the ISO 639-1 two-letter code)

Operating instructions can be loaded onto the product in multiple languages. The product will look for the operating instructions in the language selected in the Job Setup menu when loading the file from a USB memory device. An error will be displayed if the operating instructions are not found on the USB memory device in the selected language.

Use the Help function to view and load operating instructions onto the product:

Select the desired Language if it is different than the currently selected language.

Insert a USB memory device containing the operating instructions mPub file into the USB connection.
Press the Setup soft key.
Open in the sequence:
a. Installation Setup
b. File Management
c. Operating Instructions
Press the Load soft key.
Press the enter key to initiate loading the operating instructions.
A pop-up warning informs you that the operating instructions will be loaded.
Press the enter key to load the operating instructions or Press the C key to cancel.
