MILLPWR users: You already know the new TURNPWR!

Yes, if you know how to use an easy-to-use Acu-Rite Solutions MILLPWR control, it is important to recognize that you also already know how to use the new TURNPWR control for lathes. Just released, this new TURNPWR is designed for CNC lathe applications utilizing a common UI platform between the two that allows for easy transition. Also, the screen layout and graphics on the new TURNPWR are the same as the MILLPWR making for straight-forward intuitive use by past MILLPWR users. This allows for quick transition to CNC lathe control immediately following a TURNPWR installation in those shops. The new TURNPWR, of course, does have added turning features for controlled lathe machining. These standard state-of-the-art features operate via a conversational programming language or G-code (ISO) programming and are employed as chosen by the operator. It is extremely intuitive and designed for turning machine tools with up to two axes plus spindle. The TURNPWR was developed to satisfy the wants and needs of lathe machinists where manual and automated operation are both useful and needed. It promises to enable the user to maximize throughput by significantly reducing set-up time, scrap and other non-productive operations, thereby increasing efficiency, productivity and profitability.

New Acu-Rite Solutions TURNPWR control debuts!

SCHAUMBURG, IL (August 2020) — Offering lathe machinists a new easy-to-use turning control with state-of-the-art features as standard, HEIDENHAIN presents the highly anticipated Acu-Rite Solutions brand TURNPWR control. The new TURNPWR control is a workshop-oriented turning control that enables the user to program conventional machining operations right at the machine in an easy-to-use conversational programming language. It is designed for turning machine tools with up to two axes. TURNPWR was developed to satisfy the wants and needs of lathe machinists where manual and automated operation are both useful and needed. TURNPWR promises to enable the user to maximize throughput by significantly reducing set-up time, scrap and other non-productive operations, thereby increasing efficiency, productivity and profitability. The well-known Acu-Rite Solutions conversational programming format for controls is a user-friendly method of writing part programs and included in the TURNPWR, however G-code (ISO) programming can also be used. Basic editing of G-code programs is also possible. On the new TURNPWR, a 12.1” high-resolution display boasts a screen layout that is clearly arranged and user friendly. Preview graphics in the editor illustrate the individual machining steps for programming the contour as well as corresponding tool path generated using only dimensions pulled from a production drawing. It also accepts DXF files. TURNPWR is a closed-loop system with positioning feedback provided by rotary encoders inside the motor assemblies. When fitted with the (optional) Acu-Rite Solutions precision glass scales (1 µm/0.00005” resolution), TURNPWR also includes Position-Trac™, an advanced unique feature that enables the user to easily, quickly and accurately re-establish work piece zero after shutting down or power loss. Dynamic new features now available on DROs

For Acu-Rite Solutions current family of digital readouts (DROs), HEIDENHAIN has released a new version of software that includes several new and exciting enhancements. Here are a few of the highlights. Axes Q The letter Q has been added to the axes’ names list specifically at the request of our customers using their DROs on Optical Comparators. Available in DRO 100/200/300 Zoom TimeoutA “Zoom Timeout” time delay has been added to the Dynamic Zoom & Highlight feature so that users can set the amount of time that the Zoom or character color change stays active when an axis stops moving. Of course, if the user starts moving another axis before the delay time is reached, the delay is ignored in about a half of a second.Available in DRO 200/300“Send Position” Soft KeyA “Send Position” soft key has been added so users that want to record the Screen Displayed can send the data via a USB cable to a computer program of their choice. The computer program that HEIDENHAIN offers for FREE is the QC Wedge Software program. Acu-Rite Solutions new DRO software controls EDM machines

SCHAUMBURG, IL (October 2019) – HEIDENHAIN CORPORATION’s Acu-Rite Solutions brand introduces new software for its versatile 300 Series digital readout (DRO) that now allows users to control a sinker EDM machine. This new development broadens this established DRO’s use to include all of the most common manual shop machines such as milling, turning, grinding and now EDM in a single DRO. When Acu-Rite Solutions new EDM software is loaded into a DRO300 and coupled with an IOB 610 interface box, it enables the simple control of sinker EDM through the use of three relay signals. This software is now included on all new multipurpose DRO300s. For those who already own an Acu-Rite Solutions DRO300, v1.3.1 can be downloaded for free on the Software Updates page of www.acu-rite-solutions.com. Some key new features of the Acu-Rite Solutions DRO300 for EDM control are: Automatic Depth Programming: The EDM machine’s ram can be configured to automatically retract or dwell at the target depth. Dwell Cycle: The relay holds the Z depth until spark-out occurs or can control an orbiter cycle. Reverse Fault Detection: This prevents creep out of the bath during a burn cycle. EDM Display Mode: This shows the current ram depth, the maximum depth reached and the target depth simultaneously on the three-axis displays. Acu-Rite Solutions is proud to now offer one DRO platform that is rugged and easy to use for all common manual machines. Backed by a comprehensive warranty, HEIDENHAIN’s Acu-Rite Solutions systems are supported by a worldwide distribution network of trained and qualified personnel. Early success of long encoder solution by authorized distributors

Recently introduced to the North American market by Acu-Rite Solutions, long length linear encoder solutions from HEIDENHAIN-owned company AMO GmbH are experiencing early success through select authorized Acu-Rite Solutions distributors. The New LMF 9310 multi-section inductive linear encoder is available in measuring lengths from 3,150 mm (124”) up to 18,270 mm (719”), in 180 mm (7”) increments. It comes standard with a 20μm accuracy grade, 1000μm grating pitch, and a 5μm measuring step. It’s an excellent replacement of the ENC 250 encoder used for manual machine tool applications over 120”. For use in a variety of industries, this type of long length linear encoder is commonly found on large, manually operated metal forming machines such as large VTLs, horizontal planner mills, and large lathes, but may be well suited for use with virtually any long length manual measuring application. With an IP-67 contamination resistance rating, it will even work in the dirtiest environments. While this encoder is manufactured in Europe, it is in stock and ready to ship from HEIDENHAIN’s U.S. headquarters in Schaumburg, IL with a one- to two-week lead time (each tape is cut to order). The international sales organizations continue to evolve, and now authorized Acu-Rite Solutions dealers can take advantage of selling the LMF 9310 inductive linear encoders to their customers. The full line of AMO products is planned to be available for distribution in North American starting in 2018. For more information, see your area regional sales manager.
